I use these modules (x2) with the Knot and the Polyend Tracker. The 8 faders are controlling the 8 tracks of the tracker, and with the encoders I can simply add/remove performance effects. This combo unlocks the Tracker's live potential and it's super fun to play with.

I was looking for a simple fader controller for sample banks. And found about the EF44 on some forums, but wasn't sure about it compare to what seems simpler solution, especially about the editor. Well, the editor just for CC editing is the simplest thing to handle. And of course opens infinite possibilities for other uses. Saved my profile, one click and "voila" ready to use. Simplicity and efficiency, got more that I need with the knobs and opened my mind about getting more for other uses like DAW controller for live set or even Elektron machines. I recommend highly ! Happy customer here.

I own the EF44 controller which is the first but definitely not the last Intech Studio controller in my setup. I am super happy with the simple looking unit which I seamlessly use for MIDI CC mapping in Ableton Live. The build quality is good and solid. Last but not less important I support a small company driven by passionate and helpful people and the few time where I have experienced issues or had questions (you know both occur now and then) Kristof from Intech Studio have been helpful and taken his time to explain things in depth. This is rare or non existing from bigger companies who usually are pretty standard in their support. Thanks guys.

General Review
I’m a film and TV composer/producer and I got the EF44 module as a replacement to my existing gear. My use case is quite straightforward and simple in comparison to what the grid modules can actually pull off. But I got them for simple/solid looks and the expectation of a great fader experience. I’m happy to report that it’s been a great experience using them. I have faders assigned to my primary CCs(Modulation/Expression/Vibrato) and I still have one left for on the fly automation assignments. Grid editor, although capable of doing really cool/complicated things, can be used without much technical prowess to assign simple CCs/Key commands(look at my BU16 review). There is good documentation and the guys at Intech are really prompt and helpful if you get stuck. Really happy with my purchase !

This is a well made and well-implemented midi controller as the review in Sound On Sound recently stated. I'd fully recommend it to anyone looking for an orchestral programming controller, or just a very nice way to take hands-on control of complex synth or sampler instruments. Certainly working in Kontakt with the right-click to assign midi makes it almost instant to get hands-on control using this device. It is light in weight but does not feel lightly built. The faders have a nice resistance and the stepped knobs feel good. As I'm using this in a studio setting exclusively, it's portability is not a factor to me. Personally I'd prefer it was heavier to feel more secure on my desktop but I understand that wouldn't be desireable to all users. I would however be happy to buy a simple black enclosure - metal or plastic with a weighted metal base - and a slight incline so the device stayed firmly put on my desk. If this was offered in a 1U and 2U format I think that would be very helpful.

Have been using the product over year now with Cubase and it is working as it should be.
Met Your Expectations?
Mapping midi CC was easy and built quality is excellent. Just remember to clean dust under the controller paws, so it won't slide.

Using sliders for controlling Modulation, Expression and Volume. Also mapped Knobs to control Gain and everything is working well.

I love the 10 bit fader resolution, the only one i've seen with this feature, quite important to me to have more than 128 steps of resolution in order to get smooth control.

I am always skeptical with any midi controller and was on the fence with this purchase. I was looking for a simplistic and small midi controller to replicate the feeling of a hardware synth for use on VST's. This little controller has exceeded my expectations. The build quality is wonderful, the faders have the perfect amount of resistance, and the encoders are solid. I plan to pick up a few more and create a grid. If you are on the fence about this little midi controller for use in your DAW, I would recommend you make the jump and grab one. Seriously easy to integrate and use.

The device itself is amazing. Right what I was looking for. I use it for Abelton and with the basic functions it is plug and play. If you wanna go deeper you'll have to dive into the edior. There I'm missing some tutorials. You have to read much. To mention that one bord was not working but I got a new one from support. Great service.

The build quality is incredible and it physically feels natural and enjoyable to use. I got this over the PBF4 for the additional slide distance on the faders at the tradeoff of having 4 more buttons.
Met Your Expectations?
Exceeded my expectations. These things look and feel great. Support is responsive and informed.
How Do You Use Grid?
Given the flexibility of the Grid Editor software, there are a variety of uses for Grid products. Currently I'm using it mainly for channel automation in my DAW (Reaper), but plan to use for a talkback toggle from my control room as well.

The faders are a little heavy, but the initial movement is smooth and excellent. In some other companies' products, the faders are a bit tricky to start moving. The price is reasonable, and it has great potential in terms of being able to scratch an itch. That's the really great part.
