RME TOTAL MIX MIDI CONTROL
I also have an RME at home but haven’t tested it yet — maybe I’ll give it a try this weekend
You can assign controls for TotalMix easily with any Grid module. Probably 2xPBF4 is a good choice
Thanks ! let me know if you do a grid setup to share to others !
I'm tryng to get this setup with a Te k2. Can Control from the Tek 2, but Tek 2 doesn't seem to receive values from Total Mix FX. This is mostly relevant as I often use the "recall" volume function, and if I trigger that and then move the dial, the level "jumps" to the previous value rather then conitnue from where it actually is in Total Mix FX
I can share what need to be done here
I managed it
Yep I'm familiar with the mappings in the manual....but are you able to get 2-way communication from TotalMix to the Intech or are you not worried about that?
Ah I see, you want the fader to not jump ? Are you sure it's a RME problem ?
I'm not sure, but I don't beleive I ran into this back when I had Lemur controlling it. I'm trying to figure out if I need to configure the Tek 2 somehow to receive the data or if that should be happening "out of the box"
Ok heard back frome RME that TotalMix does NOT send midi back when controlling it via CC. They only offer bi-directional communication when using either Mackie or OSC Protocol...
Now to figure out how to program Tek2 to do pitch bend for Mackie I guess? Seems like that's not an easy thing to do?
I created a profile for Endless to control mcu master fader: MCU Master fader
a pitchben message on ch9 command:224 msb: val//128 lsb: val%128
Fantastic! Thanks so much.
Just laoded it, and it controls the fader but still not getting two-way communication....does that need to be included in your profile somehow?
It also gets quite sluggish to respond to rapid movements of the dial...hmm
if Totalmix sendsing back MIDI messages, then you can receive and assign it to the Endless value https://docs.intech.studio/wiki/more/midi-rx/
Do you connect your Intech controllers directly to RME? I have the Fireface UCX II and I'm wondering if I could make it work without a computer in-between.
if you want to connect it to hardware which don't have USB Host port, only 5pin MIDI input then you will need an USB MIDI host device. like the Knot https://intech.studio/us/products/knot
Thanks!
