Pressed the 'clear' active page from Grid accidentaly

That's pretty much what happened... spent two days getting alll the colours nicely in one page for all to just disappear in a matter of seconds because I though I was 'clearing' the specific button page...

Which brings me to a suggestion: WHY this delete ALL configuration button is so easily accessible?????
I'm trying to keep my calm here but any way I can revert this proccess??? Just lost pretty much two days of work and thought in just a second....

Sorry to hear that, this is why we made a confirm popup for this as well.

narayb narayb ·

There's no way to revert it sadly, my only advice is to keep a saved version in the Cloud, so you won't have to start from 0 next time.

joaehun joaehun ·

Yeah i didn't save a version in the cloud because I've been on working on it and in my mind the store button meant it was stored somewhere

joaehun joaehun ·

Apparently just in the modules memory right?

narayb narayb ·

Yup, Store stores it on the module. Using the Cloud will Save it to the Cloud if you're logged in but will always save it on your computer locally into a JSON file.

joaehun joaehun ·

damn... Well, maybe an auto-save option to the cloud would be something nice to add? or not... will try to let this frustration dissipate and get back into setting the modules up while i still remember more or less what i had

narayb narayb ·

We did have one of those, now not operational. But this brings a lot of questions, like when should it save? Let's say when you press Store it also saves.
Should it always save to the same file or should it create a new one each time?

narayb narayb ·

For me it was always something I was pushing for, but in these cases you run into a lot of UX questions that are hard to answer.

joaehun joaehun ·

yeah i was thinking about ableton's auto-save and the creation of temporary files. sometimes a project has like 15 files but somehow I believe ableton also deletes unused files automatically. In the bin i often find 35 temporary saved files from ableton

joaehun joaehun ·

or next to the store button have another store to the cloud option

joaehun joaehun ·

that would already make it possible to distinguish which type of save is happening

narayb narayb ·

But we do have that! It's just a way to the side 😄

narayb narayb ·

But I see your reasoning.

narayb narayb ·

We could do a single-file type of autosave, if we implemented Redo/Undo.

narayb narayb ·

But I don't see much chance of that happening, too many moving pieces.

narayb narayb ·

I'll see what I can do about this, I'll put a pin in it.

joaehun joaehun ·

wait, where's this save to the cloud button? I might be a bit blind and can't find it

joaehun joaehun ·

i'm also reading on the intech studio grid guide there should be a save button that should save to the cloud?

joaehun joaehun ·

ahhh got it. the plus button on the profile page. but i have to save a profile for each module individually? can't I save one for the 3 module configuration I have going on?

narayb narayb ·

Yeah, they require 3 presses for now. But we're working towards being able to save a complete workflow (multiple profiles working together).
