Sorry if this is painfully obvious but I am trying to add an expression controller to my Yamaha PF 45 Piano with Logic Pro and it looks like the PBF4 might do the job. I am ready to pull the trigger but thought it might be better to confirm I am on the right track first.
Piano midi expression controller

Following up the EF44 might be a better choice?
Expression is usually nicer on a longer fader, I would go with the EF44 for that purpose!
Thank you. Are there any discounts for Seniors?
Paging @user for some concrete info!
is it ok to talk openly about a competitively priced project that cant be delivered for 4 weeks?
This, I don't really understand.
Do you have any retailers in Canada?
About discounts: we don't run any special ones right now, except the global store 20% and eu free shipping. With the coming end of year sales cycle, there will be various offers - but can't say for sure which time to grab the best deal on Grid. We usually do offers on 2+ product orders.
There is moog audio Montreal who should have some, but maybe they ran out of stock. Worth a try though.
My budget is limited (I probably said that) but I will check with Moog Audio. Thank you.
Found it and got a discount on EF44 for being a new customer with 7 -12 days delivery. Thank you very much.
I now have the EF44 and am excited to use it for what it was intended. My use case is very specific and I am trying to avoid spending a lot of time learning things that are not going to get me what I want.
Use case: 4 sliders to control 4 parameters on the TheCrowhillCompany.com Vaults plugins for Logic Pro using my Yamaha PF 45 piano.
can you point me to an instruction video for this purpose?
Is this a normal request?
I will now test this today!
Alright, so without MIDI-mapping, you should be able to achive the following:
- a fader setting expression (not visible in the Plugin, but affects the sound)
- a fader setting modwheel (Macro 1 of the sound)
For everything else you would probably need to either MIDI map things or assign Grid as a Control Surface.
Thank you very much.
Now I know what I don't know. My post to the company that I am using their sounds is below:
Thick as a Brick.
It has literally been decades since I understood MIDI and only retained what I needed to know to connect a keyboard to a computer. Now I am at a conundrum.
I purchased an EF44 Intech Studio Product: EF44 to use with TheCrowHillCompany Vaults and my PF-45 Yamahahaha (it is laughing at me right now) midi piano.
I use Logic Pro and have just invested (albiet very little) in an M4 Mac Mini but before it arrives I want to discover how I can control my output with the sliders and buttons and knobs.
Q1- Is there a way to see what channels the knobs in Vaults are connected to? I understand 1 and 11 are Expression and WHeel of Fortune, but I may have got that a little bit wrong as well.
Any help appreciated and I will leave Q2-25 for another time.
