Can I export a profile to a local file (for backup)?

You can find the profiles in your hard drive under grid-userdata

Guillaume Guillaume ·

I have found the file (inside ~/Documents/grid-userdata).

When I examine the content of the file, there is not much data. Definitively not my blocks.
Only a reference to a owner and cloudId. Is it linking to an online resource?

It does not seem enough for a local backup.
And do I need internet access for loading a config?

I have to check, I might be mistaken but the underlying config jsons should be there at some point.

The profile cloud part of the app is available offline, without internet. The profile cloud's latest version is bundled with the Editor and also it can write -read profile data, which will be synced back to cloud upon internet connection

if it cap help you, the full version of my json, with a full setup:

Well, thats a preset, which can be loaded to the module

kkerti kkerti ·

The event codes there are: setup, potmeter and timer events. The config is the lua counterpart of the code which is sent to the module.

kkerti kkerti ·

So if you back this up, you should be fine.

Guillaume Guillaume ·

But my current setup does much more than that.

For example, one of the button:

In that case, you have to save the config as a profile, instead of a preset.

The config save mechanism gives to choices while saving, one will get all the control element configs on a single module, the other one will get only the focused control elements config.

I think I'm confused by the whole profile / preset management

From this page, I had assumed I had saved it as a profile. Correct?

kkerti kkerti ·

One of the items there is a potmeter preset (goes to any module with potmeter element)

kkerti kkerti ·

The other item is a full profile for PBF4, can be put only onto PBF4 modules

Guillaume Guillaume ·

got it, thank you
