hello, i'm really hoping these go out soon before the de minimis tariff stuff starts at the end of the month in the US. i really can't afford to sink any more money into these.

We're ready with preparations and completed a full test import of kickstarter backers into our own commerce. Pledges done through kickstarter can be claimed from next week, we just have to hit "send email".
We've also finished the firmware and Editor software updates for VSN1. The modules fulfilled will ship with new software, but of course with all new product releases frequent updates can be expected.
I'm sorry that our delay got mixed up with the new US import changes, that's something we didn't see coming. I'm still trying to figure that out how it will effect our business moving forward.
unfortunately, unless you guys get them out ASAP, all your kickstarter backers are going to be hit with fees.
so you can't send that email soon enough 🙂
any updates?
Emails have been sent out. I underestimated some account management edge cases, but should work now. If there are any issues, please write to [email protected], I want to keep the order import troubleshooting questions focused to solve them quickly.
Thank you for your patience!
I am having issues signing in to my account. I enter my email and password and no errors come up. But it is not signing in. Anybody else having issues logging in?
Yep, same issue here.
Got around it by signing in with my google account.
Hmm, that's not working for me -- it allows me to "log in" as normal but then puts me back at the homepage, not logged in. This happens with both my regular account and with a google account.
i havent gotten any email yet
same (can't log in either)
got it now :p
I can't log in either. And I'm in the US so I would like to get my items shipped ASAP to avoid the taxes.
When I log in, it says it needs to verify my email, but I never receive any email with a code or a verification link.
Regarding the de minimis tax, I'm a bit confused, because I'm seeing that electronic items are excluded, so maybe I only have to pay $5-10 to Fedex/UPS/etc for the customs brokerage fee? Anyone know for sure?
Other info leads me to believe that I may be charged as much as 30% extra.
Hi everyone here, thanks for keeping the kickstarter related questions in this thread. I already went over quite few account and pledge import issues. The recurring issues are:
- The address associated with the original pledge had way too many errors (missing city / country or other detail) and the automatic import failed, resulting in a missing order, without any emails sent out. I'm importing manually these orders.
- On kickstarter.com an apple relay email address was used and we are sending out the get your kickstarter import now mails from our intech.studio domain. Apple might mark our mails as spam. We do have the orders ready for import in this case and if you provide info about yourself at [email protected], I can send you directly the import instructions.
- While we changed in May-June to a new commerce system, some email accounts were not correctly migrated and some accounts were broken. These are all one-by-one resolved with a bit of time and everyone should get their orders on their preferred account.
- There are couple edge cases, where UPS could not quote the correct shipping charges, handling those as well!
So far 50%+ of backers were able to complete their outstanding payments, thank you very much for your support & patience!
**If you do have an issue, best to send a mail to [email protected]! ** We do monitor all other channels too, but it's too easy loose info elsewhere.
Thanks for the transparency and clear communication, as usual! Excited to see everyone start getting their modules soon! 🚀
Do you know how much US customers will have to pay in extra fees now that the orders will probably arrive after the new taxes start?
And is there a way to pre-pay the tax, so I don’t have to pay extra brokerage fees to UPS?
Unfortunately I don't have yet any information from UPS how they will handle it, didn't roll out any API updates to precalculate it. There are many contra-dictionary news around the topic too, I'll try to get an answer next week.
Thank you for all your efforts and communication!
I'm a little peeved we were supposed to receive these in July and well ahead of this tax exemption ending. What does Intech plan to do for extra shipping costs that are now going to go to us? Is there any estimate of what will be due?
Totally understand your frustration on this, it's a nightmare for everyone involved. The original target was to start shipping in (late) July, not that everyone would receive their modules by then. There's epic complexity in producing a product like this, let alone navigating all the logistics of international delivery (especially in the current political landscape). You have every right to be peeved but please cut Intech some slack because these tariffs hurt them too. They're doing everything they can and they've been very transparent with their communications. We can all agree that this sucks but hopefully it will all be forgotten once you finally get the modules. Not too much longer now!
A small company like them cannot be responsible for tariff policies out there in different states and change their business practices rapidly after that. There are decisions to be taken which need clear investigations. We all paid shipping costs, even in the EU and other non-US states, keep that in mind.
I don't know if this is the right place or I should open another thread but I'm out of town until the 20th of september. Can i finish my kickstart process when i come back from holidays (no one no get it in my place) or should i pay the shipping charges already? (I'm based in Portugal)
I suggest that you reply to the e-mail you received containing your unique order code (or just send an e-mail directly to [email protected]). I'm sure they'll be able to accommodate you 🙂
Has anyone in this thread received their units yet? If so, how many days after you paid the shipping cost? I paid shipping last week but have not heard anything since then.
The actual package dispatch is up to an internal schedule, which takes into consideration the type of additional module choices, time of final settlement and more. Others experience may differ from yours - but as we started sending out day after day kickstarter packages, I'm sure we can stick to the last communicated timeline, where we dispatch **all **by the end of September. Sorry, can't give a true estimate.
Best to settle up the order, as that's a clear indicator that no more address changes are required and your order is good to go. If you need the package to be held back, send a separate mail to [email protected] and we can put the package on hold, until you let us know to send it.
@here US customers should expect around ~15% charge while importing. This is an early info, some reported slightly more, slightly less.
ok, 15% of the kickstarter charge? or actual cost of them new? because i ordered the 4 + 1 deal.
just so i can be prepared
(kickstarter + shipping fee)*0.15
thx
This is for a $376 order = 34%
If only it would have arrived 2 weeks earlier 🙁 now I lost all savings from the kickstarter super early bird deal. I know it’s not Intech’s fault but still sucks…
($376 not including shipping fee which I think was about $26?)
94/376 = 25%
Are there any news on shipping dates for kickstarters? How long is the procedure after confirming the recent order e-mail?
I paid the shipping fee on 27 August. Package shipped on 9 September. Scheduled to arrive later today.
I paid around the same date
I paid the $154 for mine and then got the email
is there anything I can do to get reimbursed?
I’m in the US. My VS1 shipped on 9/19. UPS status said delivery today. But now it changed to Wednesday 9/24. it’s still in Vecses Hungary. 😜. No notification of tariff payment yet.
Spoke too soon. Just got an email from UPS asking for a payment of $62.25. That’s 43% of the $145 I paid in the kickstarter. Something’s not right here. I’m calling UPS.
So I call UPS on the phone. Wait 45 minutes for an answer. Only to be told they can’t help me over the phone and I would have to send an email asking about the tariff charges. They said the response time is 24 to 48 hours. 😡. So basically it looks like I have to pay this ransom charge and then dispute it after the package arrives.
Update. Had to pay $50.25. That equates to 35% of what I paid. Waiting on a response from UPS to give details of the charge.
What a nightmare... I hope you manage to dispute it eventually!
