Intech Knot w Pioneer A9

Hi all! Trying to setup my Pioneer A9 with the Intech Knot with the goal of sending midi to my hardware drum machines without any laptop. I have read about this setup working with various other USB midi host boxes, but was hoping I could get it going with my knot, as i already own it. I tried it with no luck so far. The pioneer sends Midi clock and Start/Stop messages from either the usb B or usb C port. I tried both of them into the knot and then midi out of the knot to tempest, hd01 etc etc.. Any ideas to get this up and running would be greatly appreciated.

You would need to use the USB-A port of knot to send the midi data from the pioneer device to it.

If the front led of Knot (I think if you look at it from the front the first led) blinks when the pioneer device is "running" (sends midi), then in theory knot receives the midi. At that point, you should try to connect the trs midi out port to your drum machine.

Unfortunately I am not aware if Knot supports midi clock transmission this way, for that I call upon @user

Knot currently has jitter issues if clock is passed through it, there is a pending FW fix, no concrete ETA though sorry.

Until then I wouldn't recommend passing clock through Knot if the device on the other end would use that clock for sync.
