Independent pages?

Hey I have two modules connected, and whenever I change page on one of the devices the other also changes. There are cases however when I'm able to switch them individually.

What's the deal? Thanks!

How exactly did you change pages independently? Were the modules connected to the computer via a single USB cable only?

I am not exactly sure, cannot reproduce -- could have been they were not fully clicked at that point. But yea I use one USB cable generally.

All I know is I hope there's a way to change them independently

Would in part defeat the purpose of modularity from my viewpoint, if not

I don't know about that but hopefully one of the Intech guys will jump in and enlighten us 🙂

Changing pages independently would be a nice feature to be able to toggle but I imagine it would require changes to the Grid Editor. It also might get complicated keeping track of which page each module is on.

One thing I haven't tested yet is using two separate cables – I imagine if you split modules onto different USB connections, they should behave independently. When they're magnetically connected, I guess it does make sense that they'd behave in sync by default.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you can make "virtual" pages of sorts by changing behaviour of controls based on certain state. That's not without its challenges though, especially when we're so limited in characters for coding.

I think this would be a great feature. There are cases in the Midi world where it makes sense. For example toggling between several plugins on one module without affecting the transport functions of another module.

That'd kinda be my use-case. Sometimes I want my buttons to be pressure sensitive, while leaving my other module in the same mode. There's many scenarios I can imagine

yea I figured. that'd be a lot of work and a lot of characters wasted and I'm already low for some elements 🙁

At some point the character limit will be increased (see this ticket) but it's a complex change, so there's no ETA currently.
