Hey all! I just bought a En16 and have a few questions. Long story short i would like to be able to assign a particular CC# to each knob but the way nuendo midi mapper works is that it looks to the hardware first for the CC# and then assigns functions to that cc. However unlike other midi controllers i have the En16 doesn’t seem to have any hardcoded CC assignments, so it just reads as blank in nuendo. Is there some kind of software available where i can customize how my daw reads the En16? Does en16 even work like that? I hear whispers of Lua but i am not a programmer. Thanks!

Hi!
You can customize the MIDI CC assignments using the Grid Editor, which allows you to assign specific MIDI CC numbers to each knob. This way, you can control how your DAW reads the EN16.
Lua scripting can also be used for more advanced customization, but it’s not necessary for basic CC mapping.
AHH! thank you!!
this is unforunately not working for me. can you please confirm i have set this up properly?
What is your goal with this? sending specific messages on rotate left or right? currently you sending the same midi message
i would like to be able to automate the value of a plugin parameter in my DAW (Nuendo) by right clicking parameter in daw and clicking "learn", then twist the encoder I want on my en16 and have the values of parameter decrease as I turn left, then increase as i turn right.
you don't need to add this L/R action block, just use one midi block on your encoder as it's in the default profile
I never used nuendo, I think you need to set up the controller inside nuendo, then you can map to the parameters
from a nuendo rep: "MIDI Remote blocks CC from being directly transmitted from the device. Just disconnect the script and use it like you would in any DAW with MIDI learn or by adjusting parameters to match the CC asignment of a given encoder."
