Hi guys, I was just trying to connect a module to my Mac and configure it with the Grid Editor.
Once I connect it to the USB nothing happens, the leds are on and I can change pages with the button, but the Grid Editor still asks me to connect a device and also the Midi Studio (of MacOS) doesn't show the module.
I have 3 modules and none of them is visible.
What am I missing? thank you in advance

When you first connected a Grid module, did you grant permission for it to communicate with your computer? There should have been a prompt to do so.
no, nothing ever happened since I connected them for the first time. Never detected as a USB device
is there a MacOS version requirement?
I’m not sure, you’d have to check the site or wait for a reply from one of the Intech folks.
That you got three of them and none connect does make me personally suspect an issue on the computer side rather than the module side.
Out of curiosity, and since I expect that the Intech folks would ask this anyway: what mac and what os version?
pretty old: MacBook Pro mid 2015 with macOS Monterey 12.7.6
but, using USB, I have an audio interface Motu M4 working well
This is a pretty old system indeed. But as it's over Catalina, in theory it should work.
Do you have success on chrome using the web version of editor?
I'm going to try
nothing, it says "No compatible devices found"
will check on this early next week.
oh man..
I tried them on another, newer Mac (2023), and they were still invisible despite turning on.
...it was the cable 🤦♂️
with two different cables they work well.
Question: is there any quality requirement for the cable?
Need to deliver power and data both, other than that not much.
I didn't immediately think it was the cable because the modules looked well powered.
I think there are multiple little cables braided together in usb cables. If you had an Intech Studio cable, it could have had a break among those. If you tried out Grid with a home appliance charger, those often only deliver power. Phone charging cables are usually power and data as people sometimes hook up phones to their computers for data transfer.
It's an annoying thing, this wasn't my first idea either to check the cable... Although probably my peers on tech support would have suggested that
that's ok. The important is that they are working well now, also on my old laptop ^^
