General Help with Grid Editor (Profile Cloud)

I'm trying to educate myself with how this all works & am more confused as I work through the doco. I'm hoping someone can answer my questions or point me to a resource that will. Apologies in advance for the basic nature of these questions - I'm totally happy to educate myself if there is a resource out there I should look at (no answers here https://docs.intech.studio/guides):

  1. The Save to Cloud button allows you to upload your local profile to the Profile Cloud.
Where is the 'Save to Cloud' button, I cannot see it or see reference to where it is?
Actually as I am typing this I see there's a + sign. That it?
  2. Clicking the + I have options of Button Element, VSN1R and Snippet. What are these?
  3. I tried the Module option, to save the current configuration of my device, so I can play around with others & revert back to this one when done. Am I in the right place for that?
  4. When I tried that, I got a bunch of messages saying I'm no online, however bottom left it says Profile Cloud-@Pottz (that's me). Am I online? If not how do I get online?
  5. I see I now have something under my Configs called "Config on 1311" which I presume I just saved. How does one apply that config to the device? Drag and drop?
  6. [Answered]
  7. I then was looking through the other configs, and wanted to see what the current loaded config was - how do I so this?
  8. I see that some configs are not applicable to my device, but the underlying elements (sometimes) are. Can I pick and choose how I apply these? In case it wasn't answered above - what is a Snippeet and where can that be applied?
  9. What is the impact of just single clicking on a config - I noticed it then prevent me clicking on (for example) buttons, if I have selected something like BU16 Pressure CCs (and I have a VSN1R). Why is that?

1.) the + sign will create a profile, preset or code snippet based on what you have selected.
Full module config > profile
Element > preset
Code block > snippet
After a profile is created, it will reside on your hard drive, under grid-userdata.
On the profile itself there are very annoyingly small icons, one of them is upload to cloud. You get tooltips while hovering over them.

2.) when a module is selected in Editor, you can save a single page of that module's full config including all the elements to a profile.

When an element is selected, then that focused elements all events can be saved into a preset. For example from a PO16 a potmeter preset can be moved to a PBF4 potmeter (and even faders I think, as they are similar analogou components).

When you have a code block in focus, that code block can be saved as a snippet to reuse often character count optimized code pieces.

3.) yes. I tend to use a new profile for a "config session" and when I am happy, I either hit overwrite on the same profile (there is a small button for that, use the tooltips to identify next to a profile name) or create completely new profiles.

4.) if you are logged in and see configs in the profile cloud panel, you are online. I think we have to update one of the underlying technologies to fix this "am I online" error, it's annoying when that happens. If you have a good reproduction procedure, to get the same error everytime, let us know.

5.) you can either drag and drop (if compatibility is with given drop target is right) oe click on a config (profile or preset) and hit the small load icons on the module(s).

7.) I am afraid, you can't see the currently loaded config on the module itself.

8.) yes, you can use parts from other profiles. The snippet is a code block, that can be drag and dropped onto an action list on an element. It often has lot of characters, so best to load it onto a "clean" element.

9.) when you single click a config, you should see an overlay coming up over the module showing drop or upload targets. The overlay should be closed before moving forward with configuration

Many thanks for all those replies - I think I understand now, so will continue my exploring. So many options, I need to sit down and design my desired end state. Thanks
