Connect modules using cable

Can modules be connected using cable without pogo pins, magnets?
It would be usable for installing module to more permanent custom base box in the style of MakeProX.
Or for angled installation.
Or just for cheaper setup without side PCBs.

No, it's not possible to connect them with cables. However, our modules follow the Eurorack standard, so you can build it in Eurorack case

And with soldering?

Greg-Orca Greg-Orca ·

of course, with soldering you can do it! just connect the two interface

Greg-Orca Greg-Orca ·

to activate the interface need magnetic connection in the side. so you also need to snap a magnet

Two sides is the magnets, and the pins is the connection

I would like to skip magnetic interface and side PCBs. Just connect main PCB with others inside larger box.

Filip Hanes Filip Hanes ·

is activation done in interface PCB or main PCB?

when I connect pins in red circles with neighboring boards would it work?

  1. and would central pins in blue circle communicate with other boards?

@user could help you with this maybe!

@user blue port is for debugging and programming. It has serial interface for logs both on the ESP32S3 and the RP2040 processors

Red ports are for data and power between the modules, of you solder them directly to a neighbor PCB it should work fine. Please not that it is best to keep the USB side of the panle free on all PCBs to allow firmware update in the future!
