I'm considering to purchase the BU16 Grid unit but I was wondering if the buttons are clicky or smooth. I have a PBF4 and I find the clicking sound of the buttons a bit too loud, particularly since I'm using the controller for audio performances that are on the quiet side or when I'm using the controller near a microphone. Thanks!
Are the buttons in the BU16 clicky or smooth?

Same as the pbf4
So it's clicky I'm afraid
OK. Thank you for answering. Have you considered creating a version with soft buttons?
Or is there a soft button component that you recommend? I'm OK with DIYing it so is it possible to buy the rest of the components from you and source the buttons somewhere else?
Yes, we've been thinking about silicon moulded buttons, but we don't have experience with the related sensor work for such a device. Right now its in the cool idea, but won't do bin.
We're using omron switches, specifically the ones which require the least amount of force to be activated, so the quiet one.
this is the one we use, if you can find an alternative we can ship you a bu16 motherboard - but not sure if we have any left without buttons soldered in
*small correction, we actually use the 4050, but footprint is the same
